Alastair Carruthers MD
Professional
Biography: Upon completing
his medical degree at Oxford University, Dr. Carruthers specialized
first in Internal Medicine and subsequently in Dermatology with training
in both Vancouver and London, England. After a few years in clinical
dermatology, he realized the need for further training in the surgical
side of Dermatology. He, therefore, undertook an extensive Fellowship
in Dermatologic Surgery in San Francisco with the world's leaders in
the field at the University of California. Since then,
Dr. Carruthers has devoted a great deal of his life to the art and science
of dermatologic surgery. He has developed and refined new techniques
and has become a recognized leader in the field. Dr. Carruthers lectures
extensively to physicians, both nationally and internationally. In 1997
he has been invited to speak in France, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Italy
and throughout North America. He has over sixty-five publications in
medical/dermatologic journals to his credit. Dr. Carruthers
and Jean, his wife of twenty-five years, have two college age sons and
one son still in high school. The entire family enjoys outdoor activities
and keep themselves in top physical condition. |
