ASPDT Membership Benefits

The society extends membership to physicians, scientists, residents/fellows, students and professional staff with training in a variety of disciplines including cosmetic surgery, general medicine, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, dermatology, general surgery, oral/maxillofacial surgery and plastic/reconstructive surgery.

Educational Opportunities
The ASPDT will offer in-depth scientific pro- programs
during its annual symposium beginning in 2006. This annual symposium will review the newest state-of-the-art procedures and latest research in photodynamic therapy.

ASPDT-sponsored educational programs will offer an open forum in which members can network, exchange ideas and advance their photodynamic therapy knowledge. As an ASPDT member, you can register for this symposium at a substantially reduced registration rate from the non-member fee.

Live Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) Workshops
Hands-on PDT workshops, which are conducted as part of the annual symposium, provide a unique opportunity to observe
photodynamic therapy techniques in a small-group, live surgery setting.

These types of workshops are also held outside of the annual symposium as developments arise that are appropriate to address between annual symposiums.

ASPDT Abstract Presentation Awards
The ASPDT Abstract Presentation Awards are given annually at the annual symposium for the best oral abstract presentations. The awards recognize innovative and state-of-the-art photodynamic therapy topics presented which offer new information, support the exchange of ideas and advance practice skills in photodynamic therapy and/or photodetection techniques.

Publications
Each ASPDT member will receive a complimentary subscription to the Photodynamic Therapy Quarterly Journal, the official publication of the ASPDT. This professional, peer-reviewed journal, in electronic format, will keep readers informed of the latest developments and advancements in photodynamic therapy and photodetection.

All ASPDT members will also receive a complimentary copy of Innovations and Techniques in Photodynamic Therapy, which reviews the latest in research and techniques in photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photodetection (PD). This practical guide of research and techniques has been created by some of the most well-known physicians and researchers in the field of photodynamic therapy and is offered and supported through research grants provided by the ASPDT.

ASPDT Membership Directory
The ASPDT Membership Directory is available on this website, and is an excellent source for membership networking and information. Besides keeping members in touch, the directory is a valuable resource for general information about the society, including a listing of officers, trustees, committees, bylaws and information on upcoming educational programming.

Research Grants
The ASPDT will award research grants each year to encourage research in areas with specific relevance to photodynamic therapy and photodetection. The ASPDT encourages innovative basic and clinical research projects to stimulate the transfer of new information from the clinical and research settings to patient-based practices.
