Professional Biography:
Dr. Robins is the Chief of the Mohs Micrographic Surgery Unit and a Professor of Dermatology at the New York University Medical Center. Dr. Robins has practiced medicine for over thirty years and has treated more than 34,000 skin cancer patients. As an accomplished educator in his field, Dr. Robins has trained sixty doctors from all over the world, who are now leaders in dermatologic and skin cancer care, and has lectured in thirty-four countries in four languages. At present, he performs more than 1000 procedures annually and conducts training workshops for his peers in advanced techniques of dermatologic surgery.

Dr. Robins is the founder/president of the Skin Cancer Foundation, a national organization dedicated to the research of skin cancer and education of the private and public sectors. The Advisory Board of the Skin Cancer Foundation is composed of over 160 leading physicians that are distinguished members of the scientific and business communities. In addition, Dr. Robins is the founder/president of the International Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, founder/former president of the Mohs Society, and former president of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

The American Academy of Dermatology has presented Dr. Robins with an honorary membership for outstanding contributions in dermatology, the Award for Excellence in Education, and the Golden Triangle Award. He has been honored as a distinguished member of both the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and was awarded a Presidential Citation by the International Society of Dermatologic Surgeons. The impact of Dr. Robins' work is far-reaching and over a dozen international dermatologic societies have bestowed him with honorary memberships.

As a pioneer of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Dr. Robins has published over sixty articles in leading medical journals and was the founder and former publisher of the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology. Dr. Robins has authored two consumer publications on the early detection of skin cancer, Play it Safe In the Sun, written for children and their parents and Sun Sense.
Dr. Robins is known internationally for the advancement of his specialty, his commitment to his patients, and for his contributions to education.
